Michigan was having an exceptionally mild winter but Mike Robinson and his wife, Marian, kept their escape-to-Florida plans and went south. Their first stop was Cape Coral, where they spent three days with Dave and Jill Kirby Nagel, before checking into a 5 bedroom, 5 bath mansion for a week. They welcomed their sons, grandson, nephew and other family members for a great family gathering, including a Valentine’s Day celebration at a club where their son Rob’s band was playing. For Mike’s birthday on February 15, they hosted a lasagna dinner for 15 at the mansion and Rob played a private concert for his dad and guests.
Their last night in Florida was in Jacksonville, where they stayed with Diane Ellis Racano and her husband, Vince, who sent them off with a big bag of oranges and grapefruit from the Racanos’ citrus trees. All in all, you couldn’t ask for a more wonderful trip than this.
