Nancy and her husband, John, have been making and selling their pottery for the past 25 years, first in Texas and now Michigan. They have a pottery studio and gallery, Prairie Springs, in the gently rolling hills and farmland near Hillsdale. For 20 years, they produced a series of Santa sculptures, with a new design each year. Nancy continues to throw functional pieces and has begun teaching pottery again. John presses birdbaths, butterfly puddlers, and tiles designed by Nancy. He also makes the wooden frames for the tiles.
