Remembering Damon Hyde

Pop/Rock Singer and Songwriter. We all remember Damon playing the trumpet in high school and he went on to make a career in music. A pianist and honeyvoiced singer in addition to trumpeter, he travelled extensively before settling down in Florida in 1978 with his brown-eyed girl, AAHS classmate Pamela Conn. Damon’s bands backed up The Drifters in Puerto Rico and Tiny Tim in Miami. His beautiful falsetto, and his love of island music made him a sought after musician for many of South Florida’s most popular bands. Chief James Billie of the Seminole Tribe honored Damon with a gold medallion that he treasured until his death in June 1999.
