News about Tom Folk

Updated: Feb 24, 2021

11/28/2020. Like many of us, Tom was an Ann Arbor native and he remained a Michigander all his life, getting three degrees from Eastern, and building a career there that included having his own company. His close knit family grew to three children, nine grandchildren, and a great-granddaughter. Tom loved to sing and was a member of two outstanding musical groups, the University of Michigan Glee Club, and the Youth for Understanding Choir. In our senior year, he had one of the leads in the musical, "The Unsinkable Molly Brown" and Maggie House Conger remembers, “Being with Tom in the show was great fun! One of his lines was yelling, ‘Colorado!’ and I still thought of that years later when I lived there.” Barb Kendall Souza went out with Tom once (before Pete Souza; hard to compete with Pete!) and says “he was a really nice guy!” If you’re a golfer, you might have run into Tom on one of the Ann Arbor area courses over the years. In addition to a Memorial, family and friends had a Golf Scramble to celebrate his life.

You can read Tom's obituary here.
