News about Judy Aitken Duffendack

Maggie House Conger posted this notice on December 8 in our Ann Arbor High Class of '65 Facebook group: “I am sad -- very sad ---to write that Judy Ann Aitken Duffendack died yesterday surrounded by family. Judy coped with MS for years, but lost her fight to melanoma. Her husband Stan's comment to me was ‘Why Judy? She never hurt a soul.’ And that is true. Judy was a champion diver and trampoline artist, a cheerleader, accepting of all, and an all around excellent student. She met Stan her sophomore year at UM and never looked back. They have been married for almost 48 years. I praised Stan for how caring he was to Judy and he said, ‘It was an easy job to care for her. I love her so much.’ I love her, too -- and have since I was 7 years old. We had such a fun life going though school together-and I appreciate how lucky we were. Few have what we had. I am honored that she picked me to be her best friend! May she rest in peace.”
