News about Bart Harrington

9/26/2020. Pamela Conn Hyde let us know that Bart, who was a dear friend, had passed away. Bart was described by Susan Magid Bergin as “So funny, so sweet!” and that was echoed by other class members who remember him in just the same way. Bart spent 20 years in the Navy, retiring as a L.T. Commander, and called his military service “the smartest thing I ever did.” Later, his interest in nutrition and health led to a second career as a chiropractor in Carmel, CA, where Doris Day was one of his clients. Another life chapter took Bart back to Michigan, where he lived in Ludington before making a final move to Mississippi to be near his daughter and her family, including his great granddaughter, Sophia Rae. Bart loved poker and whenever he went to Las Vegas for some action, he would call Pamela on “poker breaks” to take his mind off the game. She saw Bart in 2017 and sent a picture of them together from that visit. Two other photos are of Bart with his beloved dog Gus, and with a new great-granddaughter, Sophia Rae. There was no obituary.
