In 2012. I left California after 30 years to begin a peripatetic lifestyle. After five years, it has finally led me back to the west coast, but to the Pacific Northwest this time. I was fortunate enough to spend the first 2½ years after retirement in Rome. But once I realized that I wanted to live in the U.S. instead of Italy, I came back to explore some options for my next home. Philadelphia almost won out and I will always love that city. But those of you who have found the right partner late in life will understand why I changed my mind and moved to Seattle. My partner, Tim Williams, who lives there, is pictured with me on Easter day in Ann Arbor and in a second photo taken just a few minutes before we started a cross country drive in a Penske truck with many of my worldly goods. In that one, the expression on my face looks like the cat that caught the canary, and that's just the way I felt! On to a new life chapter.
