A little further on, you'll read about Pamela Conn Hyde's experience with rotator cuff surgery, but she wasn't the only class member getting a shoulder tune-up this year. The newest member of the "Cuff Club" is Marianne Mayer Behler. This was her second — the first was in 2015 — so, as she put it, "I guess I'm a double cuff plus a knee – I'm going bionic!" But you would never guess it from looking at her. Cycling is one of her loves and she looks more like a graduate of the Class of '85 than '65. Maybe we should all be riding bikes? She currently has her sights set on PALM, a week-long 300-mile "Pedal Across Lower Michigan" ride in June 2019, camping for the entire route. Marianne wrote, "Biking is the BEST sport as we age. It's for everyone. Our family enjoys riding, too. We take an annual Mother's Day ride — and we always end with ice cream!" You can see Marianne and her bike, a Specialized brand hybrid, below.
