Mac Whitehouse, M.D., and a special patient

Here’s a story that we missed from a year ago. Michigan’s governor, Rick Snyder, was hospitalized with a blood clot that developed a few weeks after he tore an Achilles tendon in one of his legs while jogging. The vascular surgeon quoted in the press who explained the details about how blood clots like Snyder’s can occur was Dr, Walter M. Whitehouse, Jr., aka classmate Mac Whitehouse. Mac is chair of the department of surgery at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital.
