Jim Osterberg makes the news again, twice in a month

David Bowie’s death and the extensive media coverage surrounding it put Jim back in the spotlight, with a piece in the New York Times (published January 13) and other publications. As a very young Iggy Pop, he shared a Berlin apartment with Bowie in the 1970’s. Bowie produced Iggy’s first two albums, “Lust for Life” and “The Idiot” and helped launch his career. Jim says now, “He resurrected me.”

A later New York Times piece (published January 21st) covered a new album – said by Jim to be his last – called “Post Pop Depression” that's a collaboration with Josh Homme of the band Queens of the Stone Age and scheduled for release in March. The Fox Theater in Detroit is one of the venues chosen for a tour promoting the new album.
