After almost 75 years, we all have a life story to tell. Or maybe it’s more like a lot of stories packed into one life. One of our classmates knows just how that works. Francie King has been a commissioned personal biographer since 2007. Her work involves extensively interviewing an individual, developing a manuscript from that interview, researching the times in which they lived and then writing a personal history the client can pass down to colleagues and especially to future family generations. The result is a hardbound legacy book professionally designed by her team.
In Francie’s own words, “It’s been huge fun and very rewarding. Creating a personal history is a shared experience that requires respect, observation, good listening, a sense of humor, and a reverence for both story and storyteller. My clients range from CEOs, to housewives, to cancer patients, to astrophysicists, and other always-remarkable human beings. All have stories to tell, photos and documents to share, and a desire to add to our collective human history.” Francie also edits the books of other historians in her field, along with novelists and journalists.
Francie’s company is called HistoryKeep.
