In 2016, all of us on Facebook followed Duane’s experiment with living in and near Ann Arbor after leaving San Francisco, his home of 48 years. He enjoyed seeing old friends and family, and old haunts, but that winter weather… As he put it “I guess you could say I failed the Winter in Michigan test!” So at the end of the summer, he headed west to California. By the time the holidays arrived, he was settled into a new life chapter, and telling us, “Finally after a year of adventure, I found the place where I want to live. I bought a small condo in a resort in Palm Springs with three swimming pools, two hot tubs and a tennis court. The grounds are beautiful, and I'm loving Palm Springs weather. It's an interesting little city.”
