Diane Wahl was profiled in an article in a recent edition of the Ann Arbor Public School District News and with good reason. She is the longest-serving teacher in the AAPS. She got a job as a Phys Ed teacher after graduating from Western University 46 years ago and she’s not ready to retire yet! She began attending Wines Elementary as a 5th grader the year it opened in 1957 and has been teaching PE there for the past 35 years. She started her career at Eberwhite, Burns Park and Carpenter. A much-loved teacher, among the many things she does in addition to her main job is to lead about 50 students in grades 2-5, aka Wahl’s Walkers, on a mile walk at lunchtime twice a week. Many of you will remember her as an AAHS cheerleader and she is just as fit and full of energy now as she was then.
